Certify your company's environmental claim

A corporate carbon footprint, a Carbon Neutrality claim or an emissions reduction claim must be verified by independent third parties to be communicable and reportable. We verify it for you.

What we certify

Two types of corporate certification

Corporate claim certification is distinct from carbon credit certification.

Corporate carbon footprint
The company measures its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. Climate Standard verifies the calculation methodology, the quality of evidence and compliance with ISO 14064-1. The audit can be partial and integrates with CSRD reporting (ESRS E1).
ISO 14064-1
Corporate Carbon Neutrality
The company measures its carbon footprint, reduces direct emissions and offsets residual emissions with certified credits. Climate Standard verifies that the process meets the requirements of ISO 14068-1 and that the credits used are verified by independent third parties.
ISO 14068-1
The process

How claim certification works

Three steps, all on the platform. The process typically takes 4-8 weeks from registration to certification.

01. Analysis
Upload the carbon footprint
The company uploads the carbon footprint report to the platform: organisational boundary, calculation methodology, activity data for Scope 1, 2 and 3, supporting evidence.
02. Verification
Independent review
Climate Standard verifies the methodological correctness of the calculation, the quality of evidence and compliance with applicable standards (ISO 14064-1, ISO 14068-1).
03. Certification
Certified claim
Issuance of the certificate with reference date, covered boundary, applied standards and credits used for offsetting. The certificate is renewable annually.
Why certify

The difference between a verified and an unverified claim

European regulations (Green Claims Directive, CSRD) are progressively narrowing the room for environmental claims not backed by independent verification.

Without verification
Corporate carbon footprint (even partial), carbon neutrality or net zero targets declared without independent verification. Risk of challenge from consumer authorities or investors. Not usable for public tenders with ESG criteria.
With CS certification
Carbon Footprint and Carbon Neutrality verified by independent third parties under ISO 14064-1 and ISO 14068-1. Full documentation available for internal and external audits.
